Where is AI in your school?

Your teachers and staff are already using AI for lesson plans, report comments, letters to families and special-education paperwork. This finds out where, with what, and where it meets student and family information.

It is an interview, not a quiz. It learns your school first, then asks about your classroom teachers, your counselors, your front office and your special-education staff. What comes back is an estimate built on your answers: where AI is likely in use, which records it touches, and the first three things to do.

  • The questions follow the kind of school you run. A parish pre-K to 8 school and a public district do not get the same interview.
  • Your estimate is free: a score, findings, a map of where AI meets student, family and staff information, and the first three things to do. No sales call.
  • The Reality Gap Report is what your staff know. It finds which AI tools your staff really use, what student and family information has gone into them, and how many staff have never been told the rules, then checks every answer you gave against theirs. Coming soon, at $149: save your place from your estimate.

How it works

    Your school

Two minutes. We read your school’s website and draft a profile; you correct it.

  2. 02

    Core questions

The questions every school should be able to answer about AI. “I don’t know” is always an option.

  3. 03

    Your school’s exposure

Scenarios from school work: IEPs, report comments, letters to families, discipline write-ups and admissions. Where an answer raises a thread, we follow it.

    Your estimate

Findings, an exposure map and the first three actions, from your answers. Free, and yours to keep as a page and a PDF.

The Reality Gap Report. What your staff actually do with AI, checked against what you believe. All ten actions, rebuilt on evidence.

The score is an exposure score

Higher means more unmanaged exposure. Same answers, same score, every time, so you can measure it again next school year.

Who it is for

Heads of school, principals, superintendents and technology directors, at any school from pre-K to grade 12.

  • Independent and private schools

Day and boarding schools led by a head of school and a board of trustees. FERPA usually does not apply, and families still expect their children’s records, evaluations and finances to stay private.

  • Faith-based schools

Parish, diocesan and congregational schools, often pre-K to grade 8, led by a principal with a pastor, diocese or board above.

  • Charter schools

Public schools run by an independent board under a charter, alone or in a network. FERPA and IDEA apply, and in many states the school’s records are public records.

  • Public school districts

A district led by a superintendent and an elected board. FERPA, IDEA, state student-privacy law and public-records law all apply, and public records can include AI prompts about district work.

Online schools, microschools and special-education schools answer as “another kind of school”.

What it costs

  • The estimate

  • Policies for your school

A staff AI policy, a student AI-use policy and a letter to families, each assembled from clauses our partners have approved for schools and signed off by a partner before it is delivered.

    In preparation

We never ask for a student’s records. The estimate is built from your answers about how the school works. In a public school, what you download from us may become a public record; nothing in it names a student.
